John Wayne Evans, born October 22, 1964, in Crown Point, IN, passed away unexpectedly on June 30, 2023, in Cedar Lake, IN.
John was a graduate of Crown Point High School. With a passion for mechanics, John owned an auto shop and later worked for many years at Ford, having honed his skills since the young age of 12. His love for speed and machinery extended beyond his work, as he was an avid fan of NASCAR racing and snowmobiling. He also held a deep appreciation for old cars.
John was preceded in death by his grandparents, Wesley and Esther McKee, and his father, Fred. He is survived by his mother, Judith Evans, his sisters Sheryl Early, Judy Paitsell Kulpinsky, Christine Phillips (Alan), his children, Ashley and Austin, and the mother of his children, Cheri Uran.
John’s memory will live on through his family, friends, and the countless cars he brought back to life.
